Here's innovative shark bite mitigation infrastructure that the state government "Sharks Task Force" explored in a recent meeting hosted on June 12. A team comprised of a group of government stakeholders has been established to discuss the implementation of more sufficient shark bite mitigation measures for the state. Anton has also presented in front of the group of representatives to negotiate a potential communication network collaboration to enhance public correspondence for shark activity reported in real-time to major coastal and offshore sea rescue parties.
Neill Laurenson, Australian representative of Shark Safe Barrier, asked to promote the idea of a barrier installation for Glenelg Beach on the Shark Watch platform. The same proposal was presented in front of the states task force during the recent June 12 gathering. In this podcast, Shark Watch Founder, Anton Covino, asks a series of questions relating to the barrier's design and whether something of this nature would be well received among the majority of SA's coastal water users. We hope you enjoy this episode, and find the podcast just as fascinating of a chat, as we did!
